Concept
As I moved from Iran to the US, the split feelings between my own past and present in my identity and creative expression parallels my move from a more traditional media form to experimenting with new techniques. These time-based installations are made of transparent acrylic pieces, wires and micro controllers and are installed in a dark room. The ultraviolet animations grant me the duality of having two different perspectives in one body of work as the animations only become visible in exposure to ultraviolet light and the static forms of acrylics and the structure, are what we see in normal light.
